Unifly demonstrates U-space services at Spatio Project open day

Unifly, part of the Terra Drone Corporation, has demonstrated results from the Spatio Project, which aims to validate air traffic rules and operational management systems for the safe and efficient operation of drones.

In its presentation at an open day in Romania, held under the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking and the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, Unifly shared the results of its demonstration on operational management technologies that enable collision avoidance during the flight planning phase and safe flight separation management during flight operations.

The project is an international joint initiative involving collaboration among multiple European companies and research institutions. It aims to verify technologies that enable the sharing of operational data in real flight environments and the safe and efficient use of airspace.

The demonstrations highlighted use of human–machine interfaces and real-time data exchange in a multi-USSP (U-space Service Provider) setup.

It is expected that the outcomes will be reflected in the development of regulatory frameworks and operational rules across European countries in the future.
