UAV DACH seeks data on current drone use for critical infrastructure applications

The Association for Unmanned Aviation (UAV DACH) is collecting information on how drones are already used in practice within EU Member States for the inspection and maintenance of critical infrastructure, in particular in the fields of gas and oil pipelines and water supply systems.

The questionnaire consists of up to three questions only. Individual company data will not be published without explicit consent.

“The purpose of this data collection is to obtain reliable, practice based insights that allow real applications to be made visible, regulatory requirements to be assessed on a factual basis, and both innovation potential and existing obstacles to be identified,” UAV DACH said. “The results will serve as a technical foundation for discussions with the European Commission and political decision makers, especially with regard to the further development of regulatory frameworks, the strengthening of infrastructure resilience and the prevention of misuse through clear and practicable rules.”

The aggregated results will be presented at XPONENTIAL Europe from 24 to 26 March 2026 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Participating organisations may receive the evaluation directly by email upon request.
