A drone has delivered medical supplies between two hospitals in Madrid under the European U-ELCOME project.
The demonstration flight was successfully carried out between Hospital Carlos III and Hospital La Paz, transporting medical supplies in an urban airspace managed as U-space.
Spain’s Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Madrid’s Regional Ministry of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure and Regional Ministry of Health supported the flight, which was authorised by the state aviation safety agency AESA. Bluenest by Globalvia operated the flight with the ITG Technology Center providing U-space management technology through its Daliah platform, enabling the safe integration of drones into the airspace. National air navigation services provider ENAIRE, which leads the Spanish U-ELCOME cluster, acted as the focal point of information.
