A newly created working group “First Responder Drone – Together for Faster Help in Emergencies” has set itself the task of developing practical concepts and designing suitable frameworks for emergency response by drone.
At the initiative of the German Red Cross Aalen and under the direction of the Association for Unmanned Aviation, UAV DACH member companies active in the field of medical rescue have come together to develop a viable concept for beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) rescue drones for automated external defibrillator (AED) delivery.
“The fact that AEDs can be transported using drones is nothing new,” UAV DACH said. “However, as useful as this application is, the challenges associated with it are complex.”
The working group’s focus will be on the integration into alarm chains and standard processes at rescue control centres.
