European standards agency Eurocae has published ED256A, updating the minimum standards for airborne collision avoidance system X (ACAS X), ACAS XA and ACAS XO.
ED-256A was developed jointly by EUROCAE Working Group 75 ‘Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance Systems’ and US standards agency RTCA SC-147, and was approved by the Council of EUROCAE on 21 June 2023.
This document supersedes ED-256 (October 2018). The document has been updated to include Change 1 to ED-256 and various Change Proposals raised during the initial implementation of ACAS X.
