EUROCAE invites comments on draft AAM aircraft recording systems standard

EUROCAE has issued a draft document for the minimum aviation system performance standard for AAM aircraft recording systems.

“Due to the uniqueness of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) aircraft which includes UAS, and the large variation in system size, provisions for recording system requirements in terms of scale and complexity need to be determined relative to the type of operation the AAM aircraft will be involved in,” EUROCAE said. “Due to the complexity of the recording systems MASPS, covering the end-to-end system and covering the control station, is considered more adequate than MOPS. The AAM aircraft recordings need to be considered taking into account three aspects: the data recording requirements and equipment needed in the AAM aircraft, the recording of C2-link and the data recording and equipment requirements in control station, as applicable.”

The proposed draft can be found on the EUROCAE Workspace along with a comment form. Non-members of EUROCAE can register (and click on “Access only to Open Consultation”). Comments are invited by 15 February 2026 and early replies are encouraged.
