ENAV buys controlling stake in drone data analytics company AIView

Italy’s air navigation service provider ENAV SpA has announced a binding agreement for the acquisition of a majority stake in AIView Group, a company specializing in drone services with a strong focus on the application of artificial intelligence to collect, analyze, and leverage data. The company operates primarily in the field of advanced inspections and maintenance of complex infrastructure, using a proprietary software platform and commercial drones, according to ENAV.

“The transaction strengthens the ENAV Group’s position in the development of drone-related services, a strategic and rapidly growing segment, and is part of the Group’s evolution as an industrial and technological enabler of the U-Space ecosystem, the airspace dedicated to drones, and the control of critical infrastructure,” said ENAV in a press release. “The integration of AIView Group’s expertise will enable ENAV to expand its offering of high-value drone-based services, based on advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence, to support the security and monitoring of critical infrastructure.

“The economic value of the transaction, in terms of Enterprise Value for 100% of AIView Group, is estimated at EUR10.5 million, corresponding to an EV/EBITDA multiple of approximately 7x calculated with respect to the EBITDA value preliminarily estimated for 2025. The final consideration for the acquired stake will be determined on the basis of this Enterprise Value, agreed between the parties, adjusted to take into account the net financial position of AIView Group at the Closing date, according to an adjustment mechanism in line with market practice. The completion of the transaction, expected within the first quarter of 2026, is subject, among other things, to the successful outcome of the negotiations, the signing of the definitive agreements governing the transaction and the satisfaction of all the conditions precedent.”
