EASA receives no safety recommendations for drones in 2024

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has published its Annual Safety Recommendations Review 2025, which provides an overview of the activities carried out by the agency in 2024 in response to safety recommendations.

The report is a case of ‘no news is good news’ for the drone community as EASA received no safety recommendations for uncrewed aerial systems in 2024, which the agency said is “notable”.

For manned air traffic, a total of 40 safety recommendations were addressed to EASA during 2024, stemming from 26 separate occurrences, including 18 accidents and 8 serious incidents. The majority of these originated from EU-based safety investigation authorities, maintaining a consistent trend observed over recent years.
