According to a Linkedin post from UAS consultant Robert Quiroga, the Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia has just published its Urban Air Mobility Operations Concept “CONOPS UAM Colombia” and the “Colombian Urban Air Mobility Roadmap 2025–2040”.
The CONOPs opens the way for the progressive development of passenger and cargo transport using unmanned aircraft and eVTOLs in urban environments of the country, he says, while the roadmap defines activities, milestones and responsibilities distributed in four evolutionary phases, allowing the growth of the UAM ecosystem over the next 16 years.
According to the roadmap the key stages are:
2020 – 2023: Early Phase
Development of the Horizon UAM project: research, simulations, acceptance surveys, social and validation of concepts.
2023 – 2030: Short Term
Initial pilot operations, first vertiports, battery-manned eVTOLs, interchangeable and early integration of the urban U-Space.
2030 – 2040: Medium Term
Expansion to megacities and regional corridors, greater automation, reduction of costs and expansion of infrastructure.
2040 – 2050: Long Term
