Xplorate has announced a contract award which will see it fly beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) for long-range inspections in Australia.
This contract will deploy the SwissDrones SDO50, integrated with Xplorate’s sensor suite, for large-scale gas pipeline monitoring.
The company said that the contract “reinforces market readiness for BVLOS operations”. In 2024, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia granted Xplorate regulatory approval for BVLOS operations up to 500 km in Queensland.
