The Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems (JARUS) has appointed a new Chair and Vice-Chair for the Americas following a formal vote by the JARUS Plenary Team.

Dr. Falk Goetten from Luftfahrt-Bundesamt is the newly elected JARUS Chair and Roberto Honorato from the Civil Aviation Authority of Brazil – ANAC is the newly elected JARUS Vice-Chair for the Americas.

JARUS thanks the outgoing JARUS Chair Giovanni Di Antonio, FRAeS from Italian Civil Aviation Authority – ENAC for his four years of service and outgoing JARUS Vice-Chair for Asia/Australasia Catalin Radu from the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan for his two years of service.

“Under their leadership JARUS has grown to 73 member authorities and continues to deliver on its objective to advance global harmonisation on rulemaking on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) through collaboration and cooperation,” the association said in a LinkedIn post. “It is a testament to their leadership and the organisation as a whole, that for the first time, JARUS was invited to the International Civil Aviation Organization Innovation Fair 2025 and Assembly 42nd Session earlier this year.”
