ICAO announces Drone Enable webinar series in lead up to 2023 symposium in December

ICAO will be providing a series of educational and informative webinars as a lead up to the DRONE ENABLE 2023 Symposium. These webinars will address various topics relating to unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), advanced air mobility (AAM) and UAS traffic management (UTM), including the lessons learned and experiences from the industry.

The first webinar: UTM as an enabler for collaborative operating environment, takes place 10.00 – 11.30 EST on 30 May 2023. This webinar will focus on the potential enabling aspects of advanced UTM capabilities and how these could support a collaborative operating environment. The speakers will provide detailed examples of the UTM capabilities that could help the variety of operations conducted by existing users and new entrants operating in shared airspace.

The second webinar: UTM financial sustainability strategies takes place 10.00 – 11.30 EST 18 September. This webinar will look at business models for UTM and associated ownership options, including fully private, fully public and public/private partnerships. Speakers with direct implementation/operational experience will provide insights on financing new infrastructure development, possible approaches to cost distribution, and funding mechanisms to manage risk and ensure long-term sustainability.

The third webinar: UTM deployment best practices and lessons learned takes place 10.00 – 11.30 EST 14 November. This Webinar will focus on the latest developments in the UTM domain, particularly from subject matter experts with practical experience in implementing UTM systems. The speakers will provide their insight from UTM deployments, which will help the audience understand the advancements of UTM service provisions, various non-technical issues that may arise and the associated best practices and lessons learned.
