FAA authorises Red Cat to operate UAS without broadcasting Remote ID

Red Cat Holdings has received authorisation from the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to operate uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) in US airspace without broadcasting Remote Identification (Remote ID) information, specifically for the purpose of aeronautical research.

Issued under Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) § 89.120, the approval allows Red Cat to carry out aeronautical research in controlled conditions. Red Cat must file Notice to Air Missions (NOTAMs) 24 to 72 hours before operations and adhere to all applicable airspace rules and protocols.

Effective immediately, the approval remains valid through January 31, 2028, barring earlier rescission or extension.
