The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has granted formal Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) approval to Coptrz for beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations in the Severn Trent Water utilities region.
Coptrz will operate DJI Dock-based drone missions under a SAIL I (Specific Assurance and Integrity Level 1) classification, enabling automated asset inspection and monitoring of Severn Trent’s infrastructure.
The approval, which Coptrz says is the first of its kind in the UK, enables remote DJI Dock deployments without a pilot on site, providing near real-time data capture and expanded operations.
