Zone 5 selects Echodyne radars for Paladin interceptor

Zone 5 Technologies has selected Echodyne as its radar provider for its Paladin Low Collateral Effects Interceptor (LCEI) drone. The Paladin is an autonomous uncrewed aerial system (UAS) interceptor equipped with a quick-swap payload and a battle management system that neutralises drone threats. It is included on the US Defense Innovation Unit’s Blue UAS Cleared List.

Paladin will be equipped with Echodyne’s EchoFlight airborne MESA radar. Mounted on the front of the interceptor, EchoFlight provides airspace situational awareness data to precisely track adversary drones.

Zone 5 also deploys ground systems using EchoShield, Echodyne’s medium-range radar that detects and tracks all UAS at low altitude to inform Paladin’s situational awareness and decision-making.
