Zing Drone Solutions has announced in a LinkedIn post that it has been awarded the USD 100,000 grand prize at the Proven in Pendleton Counter-UAS Challenge, part of the Oregon UAS Accelerator.
Zing’s Z-SCAN, was selected from among 30 competing companies after live field testing and evaluation by national security and defence experts. It is a passive RF-based drone detection and pilot geolocation system, designed to protect prisons, airports and critical infrastructure. Z-SCAN uses high-gain directional antennas and proprietary machine learning models to detect, classify, and localise both drones and their operators in real time, without reliance on radar or jamming, even in adverse weather conditions.
The company also announced it will be launching its commercial rollout in the Pacific Northwest, before expanding nationwide.
