On July 24, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he has reached an agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump for the United States will purchase drones, many of them C-UAS intercept drones from Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.
Zelensky said this while speaking to journalists on July 24.
“With America, with President Trump, we agreed that they will buy drones from us. That’s the agreement. I have tasked [NSDC Secretary] Umerov, [Defense Minister] Shmyhal, and [Advisor to President on strategic affairs] Kamyshin with handling this. It’s very important to prepare this contract — a serious contract worth USD10–20–30 billion,” Zelensky stated in the article.
This follows the signing of a memorandum between Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense and Swift Beat, LLC “which will enable scaling up the production of interceptor drones capable of shooting down large numbers of Shaheds,” according to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a presidential statement.
Before the memorandum signing, the Head of State met with Swift Beat, LLC CEO Eric Schmidt to discuss increasing the production of modern drones for Ukraine. “This is a co-production document between Ukraine and the United States. It will involve several companies focusing on various types of drones. But the most important thing is this year and next year. This year – hundreds of thousands of drones. And next year – there will be an increase,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. The President emphasized that the main component of the document is the production of interceptor drones, which have already proven effective in Ukraine.
