US emergency agency announces USD 500M in C-UAS funding

The United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), a component of the Department of Homeland Security, has published a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) Grant Program.

The programme provides funding to enhance state, local, tribal and territorial capabilities to detect, identify, track or monitor uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS).

It will provide USD 500 million to communities across the country over two fiscal years. FEMA said states can use this funding to “aggressively combat” the unlawful use of UAS.

The FY 2026 C-UAS Grant Program application period will close on December 5, 2025.

In addition, the Department of Homeland Security has also launched a funding opportunity to help secure the FIFA World Cup.
