The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified a number of new domestically manufactured infantry weapons.
These include three domestically produced modifications of 12-gauge smoothbore pump-action shotguns which have been approved for operational use in the military. Pump-action shotguns have demonstrated their effectiveness during the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a countermeasure against enemy kamikaze drones. The Ministry of Defence says they are particularly suitable for infantry operating in dense urban environments or narrow trench systems.
The infantry arsenal has also been reinforced with a new 40 mm automatic grenade launcher developed in Ukraine as well as optical devices and ammunition.
