Thales has launched STORM 2, a compact cyber and electromagnetic activities (CEMA) node. Originally designed to counter improvised explosive devices, Thales has developed the system to equip soldiers with localised protection from radio frequency controlled uncrewed aerial systems (UAS).
Weighing less than 2kg, STORM 2 provides frequency coverage from 20 MHz to 6 GHz. It hosts a software defined radio and processor that enables it to be re-configured to perform other CEMA roles, including hosting third-party applications and techniques.
