SkySafe launches community-powered, decentralised drone detection system for the USA

SkySafe has announced the launch of FliteGrid, a community-powered decentralized drone detection platform that tracks the millions of drones in America’s airspace – creating the nation’s first comprehensive drone tracking network, says the company.

According to a company blog which can be found online here:

“Participants will leverage plug-and-play drone tracking sensors that feed real-time data into the FliteGrid network and be rewarded with tokens. The more participants who join and submit data, the more open, accountable, and strong our national airspace becomes.”

Features include:

  • “Real-Time Visibility: This initiative goes beyond technology. It is rooted in transparency, trust, and the commitment to public good. Members have access to real-time drone activity in their area, and can view the collective impact of the network through live coverage maps and community statistics.
  • “Strengthening Airspace Together: Each sensor you deploy is more than just a piece of hardware; it builds the foundation for the nation’s first comprehensive drone tracking network. The more participants who join and submit data, the more open, accountable, and strong our national airspace becomes.
  • “Rewarding Contribution: Quality of coverage, including the sensor’s uptime, is recognized with rewards, offering real value and acknowledgment for your involvement.

“FliteGrid is open to anyone in the United States, making it easy for individuals and organizations to contribute. As the network grows, we plan to expand internationally, beginning with countries that have adopted similar drone Remote ID regulations. Our vision is ambitious: to create a truly global, community-powered network that empowers individuals, supports industry, and keeps the public safe.”
