SkeyDrone has launched RunwaySafe, a drone threat assessment platform, purpose-built for airport environments. Developed in close collaboration with airport operations teams and air traffic control, RunwaySafe has been designed to enable airports to move from simple drone detection to intelligent, risk-based decision-making.
RunwaySafe assesses each drone sighting in real time and highlights only those flights that pose a genuine and immediate risk to airspace safety or airport security. The platform visualises drone activity within a dynamic airport environment, automatically adapting to active runway configurations and operational modes.
Key capabilities include 3D airport threat zones aligned with runways, approach paths and critical operational areas; dynamic runway configuration reflecting real-time airport operations; ATM and UTM integration for unified awareness across crewed and uncrewed traffic; multi-sensor integration combining RF, radar, camera and acoustic detection systems, and post-incident analysis and compliance reporting.
RunwaySafe has been developed in close collaboration with skeyes, Belgium’s air navigation services provider, and is aligned with frameworks and guidance from EASA, ICAO, ACI and IATA. The platform also complies with the internationally recognised Detection, Identification, Tracking and Threat Assessment (DITTA) methodology.

The 2026 Unmanned Airspace Global Counter-UAS Systems Directory is now available. The Guide is the world’s only comprehensive, continually updated directory of global C-UAS companies and systems. It itemises over 1,000 C-UAS products and services with performance details, company sales and partnerships arrangements. It is updated every month and broken down into niche sub-sectors (net-capture, missiles, intercept drones, detectors etc) to give C-UAS procurement and industry personnel a unique perspective of global C-UAS technical capabilities and market positions. It is available in word, PDF and excel formats and Unmanned Airspace readers are eligible for a range of discounts.
