Orange launches C-UAS as-a-service model

Orange Business is launching Orange Drone Guardian, a scalable counter-uncrewed aerial system platform delivered in an ‘as-a-service’ model.

Orange Drone Guardian is designed to detect, identify and classify intrusive drones in low-altitude airspace across France, with the ability to extend coverage to other European countries. Able to operate in urban airspace, it offers secured, resilient connectivity fully managed by Orange across France, from network through operations. Orange Drone Guardian uses a trusted cloud platform, Cloud Avenue SecNum, qualified SecNumCloud 3.2 by ANSSI and hosted in Orange Business’ sustainable data centre in Grenoble, France.

A nationwide footprint of 19,700 sites operated by TOTEM, Orange’s TowerCo, provides its rooftop and tower assets as strategic high points for detection sensors. This extends the reach without requiring each customer to deploy and maintain its own infrastructure.

Offered on a subscription basis, Orange Drone Guardian provides organisations and critical infrastructure with real-time detection information and adapts to each customer’s requirements. The open architecture makes it possible to integrate additional software modules and new types of sensors, in particular radio-sensing capabilities enabled by 5G networks. Orange Business said the use of AI and digital twins will add to the modelling and analysis of sensor data over time.
