The Dutch Ministry of Defence said that “countless drones” were neutralised by the military working alongside law enforcement at the NATO Summit in The Hague on June 24 and 25.
“The military kept the airspace safe, and that was necessary,” the ministry said in a press statement.
The Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) battery is responsible for detecting, identifying and neutralising drones when necessary. The unit has a range of capabilities including infrared sensors and Squire radars. The ministry said that some of the unit’s equipment was purchased quickly so that it could be deployed during the NATO summit.
