L3Harris expands VAMPIRE production in response to rising drone threats

L3Harris Technologies has initiated high-volume production of its VAMPIRE counter-unmanned systems (C-UxS) in Huntsville, Alabama. The company says that the new production line is a “direct response to the United States and its allies’ need to combat the persistent drone threat posing risks to military personnel and infrastructure”.

The additional facility features a flexible assembly, testing and installation area to integrate VAMPIRE onto ground vehicles and containerised weapon systems. The production line can adjust and increase volume as demand evolves.

In 2025, L3Harris announced the expansion of its VAMPIRE family of systems to include specialised variants for land, maritime, air and electronic warfare operations, as well as the integration of VAMPIRE aboard new defense ground vehicles.
