Ondas and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen have formed ONBERG Autonomous Systems, a joint venture with HD Advanced Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Heidelberg. The joint venture provides a strategic platform to deliver autonomous drone defence and security systems across Germany and Ukraine in first phase.
ONBERG is designed to become a European ‘one-stop shop’ for autonomous drone defence systems protecting critical infrastructure, borders and national security assets. The new business will combine Ondas Autonomous Systems’ counter-drone, ISR and autonomous security technologies with Heidelberg’s engineering and scalable industrial manufacturing capabilities as well as expanding the Brandenburg an der Havel site into a centre of excellence.
ONBERG plans to industrialise production in Germany using European supply chains, expanding from distribution and integration to localised assembly and full manufacturing. A new joint roadmap includes permanent establishment of sales, development and industrial production capabilities to support high demand.
