Dutch MoD purchases new Patriot for air defence

The Netherlands Ministry of Defence has purchased an additional Patriot system from Raytheon to expand its air defence capabilities.

The contract concerns the delivery of a Patriot Fire Unit, which consists of, among other things, a radar, a fire control centre and multiple launch installations. The agreement also includes spare parts and a logistical reserve.

The contract aligns with an earlier purchase in early 2025 and serves as a direct supplement to it.

The Patriot system is intended for air defence against threats at high altitude and long distance.
