Cambridge Pixel has announced a collaboration with OpenWorks Engineering. The partnership combines OpenWorks’ optical tracking system, Vision Flex, with Cambridge Pixel’s radar processing software and system engineering experience for tailored counter-drone systems that meet the operational needs of European police forces.
“As the threat from uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) continues to evolve, law enforcement agencies across Europe are seeking integrated solutions capable of detecting, tracking, and enabling forces to take appropriate action,” Cambridge Pixel said in a press release.
The company’s software, which supports most modern counter-UAS radars, plays a central role in the integrated system. It enables multi-sensor data fusion, target tracking and intelligent alerting. Meanwhile, OpenWorks’ optical system technology and AI provides precise visual identification and tracking of UAS threats.
The integrated system has already undergone successful demonstrations and is being adapted to meet specific procurement and operational criteria set by police units in several European countries. The system’s modular architecture ensures that it can be configured to suit fixed installations, mobile deployments or rapid-response teams. It is suitable for use in both urban and rural environments.
