Babcock and Frankenburg Technologies partner on maritime counter-drone air defence

Babcock has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Frankenburg Technologies to explore the development of a new air defence system in response to the increase of one-way attack drones.

As part of the MOU, the companies will develop a containerised platform for launching Frankenburg’s new low-cost missiles, which it is manufacturing specifically to defend against the drones.

Designed to keep costs low, the joint capability will provide scalable and kinetic systems to protect military personnel and critical national infrastructure sites which could be exposed to attacks across Europe.
