Armaments Research Company’s passive detection technology wins US Army prize

Armaments Research Company, Inc. (ARC) has won the passive detection prize at the United States Army’s xTechCounterStrike competition.

ARC’s AI-enabled weapon sensor telemetry demonstrated situational awareness during tests in Germany as part of Operation FlyTrap 4.5, which concluded on November 21.

The exercise tested a range of capabilities to effectively detect and defeat, or disrupt Group 1-3 UAS (UAS weighing up to 1320 lbs. with a travel speed of up to 250 kts).

The competition resulted in four winners being selected, one for each of the core capability areas: passive detection, active detection, defeat and threat simulation.

The xTech Program provided feedback from evaluators to participants during each part of the competition. The purpose is to help accelerate the transition of the technology to a US Army end-user by providing insight into the best applications for the technology, suggestions for product improvement for US Army use and recommended next steps for development.
